Ponies eventing beginner novice?

What do you know about ponies about 13.3 or so hands tall eventing just BN? The pony I'm thinking of is 7 years old, he already has english in his back ground, he's a welsh cross, and has the potential. I probably wouldn't take him past BN. Thanks!
