I bought my finches 3 days ago and the same day the male started taking nesting material to the nest?

I bought them in them in the afternoon and at night the male was taking nesting material to the nest box and everyday until now they both male and female are taking a lot of the nesting material to its nest. Its been 3 days since i bought them that means they are going to lay eggs? around when? should i take out the rest of the nesting material left in the bottom of the cage? what should i do next?
