How to discipline 5th grade PE students?

I teach PE at an elementary school (1-5 grade) and one 5th grade cl is completely out of control. Most of it stems from their homeroom teacher, everyone knows it. When the other 2 teachers and I had finally had enough of their disrespect and bad attitudes, we made them run wind sprints for a half hour. But they don't take anything seriously, they constantly whine and complain about everything. How can we discipline them and make them behave during PE with only 2 weeks left of school?
