Health visitor reckons baby should give up dummy (pacifier in US I think!)?

My partner and I are not quite in the same position as yourself, our son has never been interested in a dummy but he does like to comfort feed during the night and we are trying to cut this out. He's still only 4 months old today in fact but we want to try to get him out of the Habit of waking during the night to feed. So far we have tried cooled boiled water and pacing the halls and rooms of the house singing to him. Sometimes these work and sometimes they don't. Sorry I haven't answered your question properly but I can def relate to it.
